Microsoft delivered one of its biggest showcases in years during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, packing the event with world premieres, long-awaited sequels, surprise revivals, and major updates on some of Xbox’s most anticipated titles.
The presentation also celebrated Xbox’s upcoming 25th anniversary while giving us a look at the platform’s future.
From the return of beloved franchises like Spyro and Halo to fresh new IPs, here is everything announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond
One of the biggest surprises of the event was the reveal of Spyro: A Realm Beyond, the first brand-new Spyro game in nearly two decades.
It’s developed by Toys for Bob, the game brings back the iconic purple dragon for a new adventure featuring expanded flying mechanics, environmental puzzles, and a colorful fantasy world.
The game is currently scheduled to launch in Spring 2027.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
Xbox officially unveiled Halo: Campaign Evolved, a complete remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign.
It’s built using Unreal Engine 5, and the remake features modern visuals, remastered audio, new animations, and an additional story campaign called “Operation: Meteorite.” The game launches on July 28, 2026.
Gears of War: E-Day
The showcase was followed by a dedicated deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day, giving us their best look yet at the upcoming prequel.
New gameplay footage highlighted the Locust invasion, intense combat sequences, and the emotional origins of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.
Fable
Playground Games returned with a new trailer for Fable, showcasing more of its fantasy world, signature British humor, and story elements. Microsoft also confirmed a release date of February 23, 2027.
State of Decay 3
After years of anticipation, State of Decay 3 made a major appearance with new gameplay footage.
The survival horror title showcased larger open-world environments, enhanced zombie AI, and improved co-op systems, making it one of the most anticipated Xbox exclusives on the horizon.
Hellblade II Expansion and New Project
Ninja Theory revealed new content set in the world of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II while also teasing a brand-new project currently in development.
The studio’s next title appears to continue its focus on cinematic storytelling and immersive visuals.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
A Plague Tale universe is expanding with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
The reveal trailer showcased a new protagonist and a darker narrative while maintaining the series’ signature blend of stealth, action, and emotional storytelling.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal
A brand-new first-person fantasy adventure, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, was announced during the showcase.
You can use magical abilities and spellcasting mechanics to escape the grip of a powerful devil. The game is expected to release in 2027.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Activision closed out part of the show with the official reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
The latest installment promises a globe-spanning campaign, revamped multiplayer modes, and a new generation of Warzone integration.
Persona 6 Finally Revealed
After years of speculation and rumors, Atlus officially unveiled Persona 6. The first trailer showcased a stylish new cast, a fresh setting, and the signature social simulation and turn-based combat that made the series famous. The announcement instantly became one of the biggest highlights of the showcase.
Persona 5 Royal Comes to Game Pass
While not a new game announcement, Xbox confirmed that the beloved JRPG Persona 5 Royal is joining Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers another major title to add to their libraries.
Persona 4 Revival Brings Back a Classic
Atlus wasn’t finished. The publisher also announced Persona 4 Revival, a modern remake of the beloved RPG. Featuring upgraded visuals, gameplay improvements, and enhanced presentation, the remake aims to introduce a new generation of players to one of the most beloved entries in the franchise.
Metro 2039 Continues the Post-Apocalyptic Saga
The Metro franchise returns with Metro 2039. The next chapter in the survival-horror shooter series with a darker story, improved exploration mechanics, and next-generation visuals.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 Announced
Mojang surprised fans with the reveal of Minecraft Dungeons 2.
The sequel expands on the original’s action-RPG formula with larger worlds, deeper progression systems, new classes, and expanded cooperative gameplay.
Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations
id Software revealed Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations, a major expansion that continues the medieval-inspired storyline introduced in The Dark Ages. New enemies, weapons, and brutal encounters were showcased.
Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition Revealed
Beyond games, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, a special console celebrating Xbox’s upcoming 25th anniversary.
The collectible hardware features a unique design and commemorative branding aimed at longtime Xbox fans.
