Xbox brought a packed lineup to Tokyo Game Show 2026, with new game reveals, fresh gameplay footage, release dates, Game Pass announcements, and a surprise appearance from Hideo Kojima.
The showcase featured games from major publishers including Activision, Bethesda, SEGA, Koei Tecmo, and several developers from across Asia.
The roughly 50-minute presentation featured 17 fresh gameplay reveals, announcements, a surprise release, and a world premiere.

Gachiakuta: Breakout Revealed
Xbox opened with an extended gameplay look at GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT, an action RPG based on the popular anime series.
It’s a survival game with melee-focused combat and features a colorful visual style inspired by the original series.
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is scheduled to launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour Shows Off Japan
SEGA brought Crazy Taxi: World Tour back into the spotlight with a new gameplay trailer showing one of the game’s upcoming locations: Japan.
The Japan map will have historic neighborhoods with modern city streets, giving players another environment to explore while completing the game’s trademark taxi challenges.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is scheduled for 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Gets New Campaign Trailer
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received one of the showcase’s biggest trailers and gave us a look at its single-player campaign.
The story centers around a major conflict on the Korean Peninsula, with Captain Price and his team facing a catastrophic weapon that could fall into the wrong hands.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026. Campaign Early Access will begin on October 16 for players who pre-order the Standard Digital Edition or Vault Edition.
Persona 4 Revival Introduces Naoto Shirogane
Atlus showed off a new character trailer for Persona 4 Revival, introducing detective Naoto Shirogane.
The remake of Persona 4 is scheduled to launch on February 18, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Game Pass.
It will also release on PlayStation 5, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for May 20, 2027.
Shape of Dreams Launches on Xbox
One of the showcase’s surprise announcements was also one of its biggest immediate releases. Shape of Dreams launched on Xbox Series X|S during the presentation and is available through Game Pass.
The action roguelite supports up to four-player co-op, with players taking control of different Travelers and battling through procedurally structured nightmare worlds. Cross-play is also supported at launch.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Gets New Gameplay
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja showed more of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, including a new boss battle against Zuochi.
The presentation also highlighted the game’s Insight Skills system.
These abilities reward players for perfectly timed parries and dodges, allowing successful defensive moves to trigger additional effects such as environmental attacks and temporary enemy stuns.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches on March 4, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
An Alpha Demo is currently available, with you able to earn a special reward for completing it.
Hope in the City Announced for Xbox
Hope in the City is a new narrative mystery adventure from Lofty Sky Games.
You take on the role of 17-year-old Hope Song, whose parents mysteriously disappear after their apartment is ransacked. Hope uses her artistic abilities and sketchbook to investigate what happened.
The game launches on November 10, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC and will be available through Game Pass. Xbox Play Anywhere will also be supported.
Bloomwalker Brings a New World to Life
Bloomwalker received a new gameplay trailer showing its crafting and housing systems.
The game takes place in Luminoa, a world damaged by pollution. Instead of simply fighting enemies, players work to cleanse polluted areas, restore nature, and bring corrupted guardians back to their former state.
A major new feature shown during the presentation was the Pocket Dimension. You can use it to construct buildings, customize their surroundings, and create a personal home alongside Familiars and Higgledies.
Bloomwalker is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Game Pass, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Faraday Blues Gets World Premiere
Serenity Forge unveiled Faraday Blues during a world premiere trailer.
The surreal sci-fi adventure combines visual-novel storytelling with a card-based strategy system. You control character cards that can alter relationships, memories, and major events across three connected eras.
The game features 64 different endings, with decisions made in one era potentially changing what happens later in the story.
Faraday Blues is coming in 2027 to Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with Game Pass availability and Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Atelier Karia Reveals Returning Characters
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories received a new character trailer focused on Rutger and Lenja.
Both characters previously appeared in Atelier Yumia and return as experienced members of the Aladiss Pioneering Team.
Atelier Karia launches on February 25, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Raji: Kaliyuga Shows Its New Gameplay
Indian studio Nodding Heads Games provided a deeper look at Raji: Kaliyuga, the sequel to the popular Raji: An Ancient Epic.
The sequel expands the story into a much larger conflict involving gods, asuras, and cosmic forces.
It is also a significant gameplay shift, moving from the original game’s isometric perspective to a full third-person action-adventure format.
Raji: Kaliyuga is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with Game Pass support and Xbox Play Anywhere. A release date has not yet been announced.
Once Human: Isles of Abyss Gets Release Date
The free-to-play survival game Once Human is getting its biggest expansion yet with Isles of Abyss.
The expansion adds ocean-based survival, ship building, island exploration, deep-sea exploration and new boss encounters. The trailer also teased a dangerous ocean filled with ghost ships and mysterious threats.
Isles of Abyss launches on October 22, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and will be available through Game Pass.
Edge of Memories Launches in November
Action RPG Edge of Memories finally received a release date during the showcase.
The anime-inspired game follows Eline and her companions as they attempt to stop a mysterious corruption known as the Corrosion. The latest trailer also showed the game’s Japanese voice cast.
Edge of Memories launches on November 5, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Genigods: Nezha Gets Developer Deep Dive
Genigods: Nezha received a developer-focused presentation explaining more about its world and combat.
The action RPG is inspired by ancient Chinese mythology and puts you in the role of the Spirit Pearl, who is reincarnated as Nezha.
The developers showed off aerial combat, transforming relics, and a world built around Chinese creation mythology.
Genigods: Nezha is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass support.
Fallout 76: The Slasher Is Available Now
Bethesda also brought Fallout 76 to the showcase with a new animated trailer for its horror-themed update, The Slasher.
The update introduces a new mystery involving masked murders and a mysterious killer. You can investigate the incidents, fight Slasher supporters, and uncover clues while earning new rewards, including a Power Armor set and the Super Slasher weapon.
The Slasher is available now for Fallout 76 players.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement Gets New Gameplay
ArtPlay showed a new gameplay trailer for Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, the next entry in the Bloodstained series.
The game is set in 16th-century England and features fast-paced 2.5D action as protagonists Leo and Alex battle demons and vampires across a cursed landscape.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is scheduled to release in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Hideo Kojima Reveals New PHYSINT Details
The biggest surprise came at the end of the presentation when Hideo Kojima appeared to provide updates on his upcoming projects.
Kojima Productions confirmed that Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård will play the lead role in PHYSINT, the upcoming action-espionage game. A new poster featuring Skarsgård and Charlee Fraser was also revealed.
Xbox is now the publishing partner for PHYSINT, strengthening its existing relationship with Kojima Productions on OD.
Kojima also provided an update on OD, confirming that development is progressing. Both OD and PHYSINT are coming to Xbox and PC, although neither game has a release date yet.
Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Was Packed With Reveals
The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast focused largely on games from Japanese and Asian developers, alongside major Western franchises and Xbox publishing partnerships.
From Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Persona 4 Revival to Raji: Kaliyuga, Wo Long 2 and the surprise Shape of Dreams launch, the presentation covered a wide range of genres.
The biggest surprise was the closing appearance from Hideo Kojima, with Bill Skarsgård’s role in PHYSINT finally confirmed and another update on OD.
With several of these games arriving in late 2026 and many more scheduled for 2027, Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show lineup gave players plenty to look forward to over the next year.
