Microsoft has revealed the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2026, bringing a mix of day-one releases, indie titles, action games, RPGs and life-simulation experiences to subscribers.
The lineup includes the highly anticipated Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, along with Vapor World: Over the Mind, Blood Dungeon, Relooted and several other additions.
The latest announcement covers games arriving between August 18 and September 1, while Microsoft has also confirmed which titles will leave the Game Pass library at the end of August.
Xbox Game Pass August 2026 Wave 2 Games
The second wave begins with Egging On, which is available now.
The game puts you in control of a fragile egg attempting to escape a dangerous environment, with platforming focused on jumping, rolling, and climbing.
It is available through Game Pass Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC.
On August 19, Vapor World: Over the Mind arrives as a day-one Game Pass release.
This narrative-driven, Souls-like platformer is a deflection-based combat game that follows a boy trapped in a dark, distorted dream.
It will be available on Cloud, console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
Also arriving on August 19 is BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, a roguelite action game set in the BlazBlue universe.
The game features 2D visuals and fast-paced combat, with Platinum joining the roster through a free major content update. It will be available on Cloud and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC.
Relooted also launches on August 19. This Africanfuturist heist game focuses on reclaiming African artifacts from Western museums.
You assemble a crew, plan their escape routes, and attempt to get away with stolen cargo.
The game will be available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Game Pass Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
On August 20, Starsand Island joins the service. The relaxing life-simulation game lets players build a pastoral life while fishing, exploring, farming and interacting with animals including capybaras, cats and dogs. It will be available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Aerial_Knight’s DropShot and Blood Dungeon Arrive August 25
Two more games are scheduled for August 25. Aerial_Knight’s DropShot combines first-person shooting with high-speed racing.
You take on the role of Smoke Wallace, competing against rivals while fighting dragons and moving through its stylized world. The game will be available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC.
Blood Dungeon is another day-one release arriving on August 25. Created by the developers behind Nidhogg, the game is 2D platforming with survival mechanics.
You must navigate dangerous dungeons, avoid monsters, collect blood and power-ups, and use their rewards to unlock upgrades, arenas, and skins.
It will be available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Launches August 27
The biggest highlight of the August Wave 2 lineup is arguably Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which launches on August 27 as a day-one Game Pass title.
The game follows Sophia on a journey to the Minotaur’s Island, where she must overcome deadly trials, solve puzzles, and survive while being pursued by an army.
The adventure will also explore the mysterious creature connected to the island’s mythology.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
Young Suns and Shelldiver Round Out the Lineup
The August additions continue with Young Suns, which launches on August 31. This narrative life-simulation game is set after a successful revolution on Jupiter.
You can explore planetoids, ruins, and converted space stations while helping the inhabitants rebuild their world. It supports up to three friends in addition to solo play and will be available on Cloud, console and PC.
The final game in the announcement is Shelldiver, arriving September 1.
The unusual incremental game stars a turtle who catches jellyfish and sells them from a small shop.
You can upgrade equipment, explore different ocean depths, and help the local turtle population.
It will be available on Cloud, console and PC through Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass.

Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2026
While Game Pass is adding a substantial number of games, subscribers also have a few departures to worry about.
Microsoft has confirmed that Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition will leave the Game Pass library on August 31.
Another Crab’s Treasure is a particularly notable departure for fans of challenging action games, while Neon Abyss offers a fast-paced roguelite experience.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition is the biggest name among the games leaving and gives subscribers only a limited amount of time to continue playing it through Game Pass before the end of August.
Microsoft has also confirmed that NBA 2K26 will leave Game Pass on September 6, giving sports fans a few additional days after the August departures to finish their time with the basketball game.

NBA 2K26 Leaves Game Pass in September
NBA 2K26 will remain available slightly longer than the other departing titles. Microsoft has scheduled its removal for September 6, with the game currently available on Cloud, console, and PC.
