Rok Scipio Aemilianus Talent Tree Build, Pairings, and Equipments Guide

Scipio Aemilianus, a new legendary infantry commander for the rally. Does he change the rally meta, and is he any good for openfield fights?

We have thoroughly tested him, and in this article, we will discuss Scipio Aemilianus’s skills, talents, and potential pairings to help you decide whether he is a commander worth investing in.

Is Scipio Aemilianus worth Investing in?

Well, If you are planning to use him for the open field, then maybe not.

Scipio Africanus Prime and Liu Che are already great infantry commanders, and Scipio Aemilianus isn’t significantly better than those two.

We are not saying that Scipio Aemilianus isn’t good for the open field.

However, if you have other infantry commanders, then you can save legendary commander sculptures for future commanders.

You can check out our legendary commander investment order guide to figure out which commander you should upgrade right now.

If you are a rally leader and want to use him for a rally, then he is quite powerful, and you can definitely consider investing in him.

You can find more about his rallying capabilities in the Pairings section below

Scipio Aemilianus Skill Overview upgrade order

5-5-5-1

  1. Active Skill: Deals Smite damage with a damage factor of 2,700 to a target troop. For the next 3 seconds, the target takes 20% more damage from all sources. This is a strong debuff, making the skill valuable in open-field battles.
  2. Second Skill: Infantry units gain 20% march speed while outside of Alliance territory, and if leading a rally, all infantry units in the rallied army gain 30% health. The march speed is useful for mobility in the open field, but the health bonus is only effective during rallies, making it useless there.
  3. Third Skill: Increases normal damage by 5%. When hit with a basic attack, there’s a 30% chance to dispel all health and defense debuffs and gain immunity to them for 3 seconds while reducing normal damage taken by 25%. This is a great skill, offering good protection both in rallies and in the open field.
  4. Fourth Skill: When attacking a city or stronghold, there’s a 50% chance to reduce the target’s attack and defense by 25% for 2 seconds and silence them if Scipio is the primary commander. This skill is only useful in rally scenarios.
  5. Expertise Skill: Scipio gains rage 40% faster for 2 seconds when the target of his troops uses an active skill. This skill is decent but not as good as Scipio Africanus’s expertise skill. You will most likely hit the rage cap and won’t get much of the benefit of the skill.

What is Commander Scipio Aemilianus good at?

Scipio Aemilianus particularly shines at leading infantry rallies. His skills are designed to be used for rallying, especially if enemies are swarming the rally before it reaches its target.

He can also be used in open fields with his smite damage, debuff, and anti-swarm abilities. However, he isn’t a proper field commander; there are better options available for that task.

There is no point in using him in canyons either, since he doesn’t have AOE damage or any unique skill that can be useful for multiple march battles of canyons.

Scipio Aemilianus commander pairings

These commanders work well with Scipio Aemilianus.

Tariq ibn Ziyad (Secondary) – Best rally pairing

Tariq ibn Ziyad Rise of Kingdoms

No one really knows why Scipio Aemilianus, as primary, and Tariq ibn Ziyad, as secondary, are working so well for the rally.

However, everyone seems to use this for infantry rallies in the KvK.

This pair is really great against Eleanor Garrison, and no one even tries to swarm this rally because it can be really costly for the person trying to swarm it.

If you are an infantry rally leader, then this is currently the best infantry pair to use in the game, especially if the enemy is swarming the rally before it reaches the target.

Liu Che (Secondary)

Liu Che rise of kingdoms

This is another rally pairing option for Scipio Aemilianus. Liu Che, as a secondary, can actually pump out more damage; however, it’s not as swarm-proof as the Tariq rally.

If enemies aren’t swarming your rally, then Scipio Aemilianus and Liu Che are better options for the rally.

Openfield Pairings

Scipio Aemilianus isn’t the best commander for the open field. So, we won’t go into detail about his open-field capabilities.
