Pericles is a newly released epic infantry commander in the rise of kingdoms(rok). He was released along with legendary commander Pyrrhus and New Greece Civilization. Is Pericles Worth Investing?
You can unlock Pericles for free during special sign-in event during the Greece Civilization launch. And after that you can get his sculptures from the tavern. So it doesn’t really matter, because you can basically expertise him for a free.

Pericles Skill Overview
Glory of Greece (Active Skill)
Required Rage: 1000
The commander’s troop gains a shield (Damage Factor or 700) for 3 seconds. The shield also increases the March Speed of their infantry units by 20%.
Shield (Self): 300 / 400 / 500 / 600 / 700
Infantry March Speed Bonus: 5% / 8% / 11% / 15% / 20%
Battlefield Orator (passive)
Infantry units led by this commander gain 10% increased Attack and 10% increased Defense.
Infantry Attack Bonus: 3% / 4.5% / 6% / 8% / 10%
Infantry Defense Bonus: 3% / 4.5% / 6% / 8% / 10%
First Citizen (passive)
While this commander is garrisoned in your city, your garrison deals 10% more damage.
Damage Bonus: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%
Call for Peace (passive)
Whenever this commander’s troop is hit with a normal attack, it has a 10% chance to reduce the attacking troop’s normal attack damage by 30% for 3 seconds.
Normal Attack Damage Reduced: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30%
Golden Age of Athens (expertise – Enhanced: Glory of Greece)
The commander’s troop gains a shield (Damage Factor 1000) for 3 seconds. The shield also increases the healing their troop receives by 15% and the March Speed of their infantry units by 20%.
Skill upgrade order
5-5-1-5
Skill upgrade order won’t matter much for Pericles as he is epic commander. However if you want to use him for open field you can skill his 3rd skill and move straight to fourth skill.

- will become completely useless after entering mid game.
What is commander Pericles good at?
If you are in Season of Conquest, then Pericles will be useless for you because different between epic and legendary commanders in SOC is enormous. However if you are beginner and in early stage of the game then he will be definitely of some good use, especially for garrisoning during events like shadow legion.
Pericles Talent Tree builds
As mentioned before, Pericles will be either used for open field or for garrison during early stages of the game. Below you will find his talent tree for both scenarios.
Openfield
You can use this talent tree for open field fights, It mainly focuses on boosting infantry stats and will help you stay on the field for longer period of time.
Garrison
This talent build can be used for city garrison. We will advise you against taking city rally during KvK especially as epic commander garrison. However, you can also use this build for shadow of legion garrison.
Canynons
You can use this support talent build with Joan of arc or other support commanders to help other marches in canyons.
Pericles commander pairings
Pericles can be paired with any infantry commanders. However if we speak more realistically, you most likely won’t be pairing him with legendary commanders because they can be paired with far commander than Pericles. So you most likely pair him with another epic infantry commanders who are also good at early game.
Sun Tzu (Primary)
Sun Tzu isn’t just a great infantry commander but he is the best Epic commander in the game. At early game he is almost as good as legendary commanders. So if you don’t have good legendary commanders unlocked than Sun Tzu would be a good choice for Pericles
Joan of Arc (secondary )
As a f2p player, you can also help out your ally by using support commanders like Joan of Arc. She provides valuable buffs to you as well your allies. Pericles can be used primarily with infantry while Joan of Arc can stay hidden as powerful support hero as a secondary.
Eulji Mundeok (primary)
Eulji Mundeok is another epic commander who might be good during early stages of the game. You should use him as primary and Pericles as secondary because attack tree of Eulji is better choice than support and active skill from Eulji can reduce enemy defence by 30%.
Bjorn Ironside (secondary)
Bjorn Ironside is skill damage based epic Infantry commander. You can use Pericles as primary commander for tanking while Bjorn as secondary commander for nuking.
Charles Martel (Secondary)
Charles Martel is legendary infantry commander. So it will be difficult get your hands on his sculptures. However if you are lucky enough you might get his sculptures from Tavern gold chest. If you manage to get his first and second skill to max, then he will be quite powerful on the field during early game. You can use Pericles as primary to bait people in attacking him, while Charles Martel destroys them with defensive stats and counter damage.
Richard I (Secondary)
Just like Charles Martel, Richard I is also extremely power at the beginning of the game. You can use him with Pericles in same manner of Charles Martel. However getting richard’s sculpture would be even more difficult, since he is available trough Wheel of Fortune and will require to spend gems on him.

Pericles Best Formation
Pericles rely on normal attack damage. So the best formation for him would be Arch Formation, it can give him extra 5% normal damage.
