The Public Test Server (PTS) for World of Warships is a separate game client where upcoming updates are tested before being released on the live servers. It allows you to experience new content early, provide feedback, and earn limited rewards for your main accounts.
This guide explains everything about the Public Test Server, how it works, how to access it, and what benefits you can expect.
What Is the Public Test Server?
The Public Test Server is a temporary environment operated by Wargaming where new updates are tested before official release. Each major update typically includes one or more testing rounds on the PTS.
Unlike the live server, progress on the PTS does not affect your main account. The server is only available during specific testing periods. The primary purpose of the PTS is to identify bugs, test balance adjustments, evaluate new mechanics, and collect player feedback.
When Is the Public Test Server Available?
The PTS usually opens one to two weeks before a major update goes live. Each test cycle often consists of multiple phases, lasting a few days each.
Exact dates and times are announced on the official World of Warships website and in the news section of the launcher. The server is not available continuously; access is limited to active testing periods only.

How to Submit Feedback and Report Bugs on the Public Test Server
Participating in the Public Test Server for World of Warships is not just about trying new content early; it is also about helping improve the update before release. If you want your feedback to make a real impact, follow the structured process below.
Identify and Document the Issue
When you encounter a bug, balance problem, or unexpected behavior, take a moment to gather clear details. Write down:
- The ship, map, or mode involved
- What were you doing when the issue occurred
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
If possible, capture screenshots or save the replay file. Replays can be especially helpful when reporting gameplay or mechanics issues.
Submit a Bug Report
To report a bug:
- Visit the official World of Warships website.
- Navigate to the Support section.
- Log in using your game account.
- Select the appropriate category (typically “Public Test” or “Technical Issues”).
- Provide a detailed explanation along with screenshots or replay files if available.
Clear, specific reports are far more useful than general complaints. Avoid vague statements and focus on reproducible details.
Participate in Feedback Threads
After each Public Test round begins, Wargaming usually publishes dedicated feedback threads on the official forums. These threads are organized by topic. You can explain your experience in a structured form.
Complete Surveys
During some test cycles, players receive in-game or website surveys. These surveys often ask about game experience. Take the time to complete these carefully. Survey responses are aggregated and reviewed during development discussions.
Focus on Test Objectives
Each Public Test round has specific features under evaluation. Before playing, read the official PTS announcement to understand what developers are prioritizing. Direct your gameplay toward those features so your feedback aligns with current testing goals.
