How to Get Kuku Bird Mount In Crimson Desert

If horses feel a little too normal for your adventures across Pywel, the Kuku Bird is one of the weirdest and most fun mounts you can unlock in Crimson Desert.

Unlike standard mounts, getting it is not as simple as buying or taming it. You will need to steal an egg, find a nest, hatch it, and finally unlock the mount for yourself.

This is a complete guide on how you can get the Kuku Bird mount in Crimson Desert.

Step 1: Travel to Bloodsteel Camp

Kuku Bird egg location

The first part of the process begins at Bloodsteel Camp in the Steel Mountains region. The camp sits around the southern border area between Hernand and Demeniss and is filled with enemies, so going in carelessly can turn into a messy fight.

You do not actually need to defeat every enemy here. You can simply sneak or climb through the camp to reach the objective faster.

Step 2: Find the Kuku Bird Egg

Inside Bloodsteel Camp, locate the tower that hides the Kuku Bird Egg. There is a hidden entrance that requires interacting with the structure to access it.

Depending on your character, you may need to use abilities such as Force Palm to open the way.

Inside the tower, you can loot the Leaping Kuku Bird Egg and the Kuku Bird Research Journal

Do not ignore the journal. It provides clues related to the bird and can help point you toward the next objective.

Step 3: Find the Kuku Bird Nest

Getting the egg is only half the job. You cannot instantly summon the mount after picking it up.

A confirmed nest location can be found east of Bloodsteel Camp near a dead tree and cliff area; some players have also reported nest locations around the Demeniss region.

Look for a large nest structure that appears much bigger than ordinary bird nests.

Step 4: Hatch the Egg

Once you reach the nest, place the Kuku Bird Egg into the nest and begin the incubation process.

The game takes a few minutes before the egg fully hatches, so do not panic if nothing happens immediately. Many players initially thought the system was bugged because of the waiting period.

After the incubation animation finishes, interact with the nest again. Your Kuku Bird mount will now unlock.

Is Kuku Bird Worth Getting?

The Kuku Bird is not just another reskinned mount in Crimson Desert. It comes with unique movement abilities that make exploration very different from standard mounts.

The bird can perform massive jumps, handle vertical movement more effectively, and even use short glides to help cross difficult areas. It also makes traveling from high places much safer and is especially useful when navigating mountains, cliffs, and rough terrain.

Traditional horses are still better when it comes to pure speed on open roads, but the Kuku Bird becomes far more useful once you start moving through rocky landscapes and harder-to-reach areas.

Customize the Kuku Bird

After unlocking the mount, you can also obtain a special saddle that changes its appearance and removes some decorative elements. Current customization options remain fairly limited compared to standard mounts.

The Kuku Bird unlock is one of the more memorable mount quests in Crimson Desert. And, riding a giant bird that jumps across cliffs feels much cooler than yet another horse.
