Sony and Sucker Punch Productions have announced Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, a new definitive version of the popular PS5 action-adventure game.
The Complete Edition will add a brand-new story expansion, a combat-focused survival mode, additional cosmetics, quality-of-life improvements, and more when it launches on October 1, 2026.
The announcement comes nearly one year after Ghost of Yōtei originally launched, with Sucker Punch making the Complete Edition as a major expansion of Atsu’s standalone adventure.
If you purchase the new edition, you will be able to access the original game and Ghost of Yōtei Legends immediately, while the newly announced content will arrive through a patch on October 1.
Echoes of Sekigahara Adds a New Chapter to Atsu’s Story
The new addition is Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, a new narrative expansion that explores an important part of Atsu’s past.
The expansion will move between the present and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the Japanese mainland.
You will meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who arrives in Ezo, while the present-day story takes you into a previously unseen valley that was once inhabited by the Snake and his followers, known as the Vipers.
The flashback portions will revisit Atsu’s involvement in the Battle of Sekigahara and explore a key moment in her life before she returned home to begin her quest for vengeance.
The expansion will also introduce new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and other content.
Most Wanted Introduces Roguelike Combat
Alongside the story expansion, Sucker Punch is introducing Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, a new single-player combat survival mode inspired by roguelike games.
You will accept bounties and begin new combat runs, with defeated enemies rewarding perks and helping unlock additional playable characters.
The announcement trailer showed Atsu using her dual katana, Oyuki fighting with the kusarigama, and Nagato wielding a yari.
The mode is designed around replayable combat runs and gives you another way to experience Ghost of Yōtei’s combat after completing the main story.
Ghost of Yōtei Legends and Deluxe Content Included
The Complete Edition will include the original Ghost of Yōtei campaign along with Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the game’s online cooperative experience.
Legends supports up to four players and features multiple gameplay modes, including a Raid.
The package will also contain the content previously included with the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition, along with the Charm of Hokkyokusei.
Players who purchase the Complete Edition by September 30 will additionally receive early access to the Sakai Armor for Atsu on October 1.
The armor serves as a callback to Jin Sakai’s family armor from Ghost of Tsushima.
New Quality-of-Life Features Are Coming Too
The Complete Edition isn’t limited to paid content. Ghost of Yōtei is also receiving several free improvements.
A new Beauty of Yōtei mode will let you use the game’s environments as a screensaver-like experience, So, you can simply enjoy the scenery of Ezo and capture new Photo Mode shots.
Another useful addition will allow you to keep the appearance of one armor set while using the gameplay stats of another. A new high-contrast accessibility option is also being added.
The Complete Edition will also feature new Watanabe Mode tracks, additional Photo Mode stamps, more cosmetics for New Game+, and new Trophies tied to Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Price and Upgrade
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is priced at $69.99 in the United States.
Existing owners of Ghost of Yōtei can purchase the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99, which provides access to Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
For Indian players, the standard digital version of Ghost of Yōtei is currently listed at ₹4,999, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is ₹5,599 on the Indian PlayStation Store according to current store-tracking data.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Release Date
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches on October 1, 2026, for PS5.
The digital version is already available for purchase in advance, while the physical Complete Edition will also arrive on October 1.
The new content will be delivered through patch v2.0. PlayStation confirmed that the update is scheduled for October 1 globally, with October 2 applying to some territories, including parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
An internet connection and PlayStation account are required to download the additional content.
With Echoes of Sekigahara expanding Atsu’s story and Most Wanted providing a new replayable combat experience, Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition looks set to give PS5 players plenty of reasons to return to Ezo.
Sucker Punch has also confirmed that more details about both new modes will be revealed as launch approaches.
