Pearl Abyss has officially released Crimson Desert Update 1.08.00, bringing one of the game’s more content-packed post-launch updates so far.
What’s New in the Update?
The new patch introduces collectible Baby Wyverns, a dedicated tool slot system, pond management features, gameplay improvements, and several visual and performance upgrades. The update download size is huge, at approximately 6.3GB across platforms.
The headline feature of Update 1.08.00 is the arrival of Baby Wyverns. You can now collect and register Baby Wyverns as pets, and Pearl Abyss has already confirmed that these creatures will gain expanded functionality in future updates by growing into usable mounts.
Wild Wyverns have also become more interactive, as you can temporarily ride them after successfully subduing them.
Another major addition is a dedicated equipment slot for tools. Previously, many utility items occupied secondary weapon space, but you can now equip items such as axes, shovels, pickaxes, drills, chainsaws, and other utility gear separately.
This should make resource gathering and exploration much smoother without forcing you to constantly swap equipment.
The update also expands life-simulation systems through a new Pond feature available at Howling Hill and Pailune Camp.
You can release fish into these ponds, manage fish populations, and observe aquatic life through a dedicated management interface.
Legendary fish have also received special treatment and are now permanent collectibles that cannot be sold or discarded.
Combat and character gameplay also received notable tweaks. Kliff can now equip muskets and shotguns, adding new combat possibilities, while Damiane and Oongka received additional movement skills similar to Focused Aerial Roll.
You can also gain the option to silence tied-up outlaws, adding a small but useful stealth and immersion feature.
On the technical side, Pearl Abyss continued its optimization work. Update 1.08.00 introduces new ray-traced sun and moon shadow effects, reduces GPU load in resolutions above 4K, and fixes multiple visual issues, such as distant vegetation flickering and displaced surface rendering problems.
Stability and overall performance improvements are also included.
