OnePlus 9 series smartphones were finally launched yesterday. They also brought a new smartwatch to their ecosystem. Here is everything you need to know about them.

First up, there is a total of three Smartphones this time around instead of two. The third Smartphone is called OnePlus 9R, which is mainly focused on gaming. OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are heavily focused on the camera system.

Camera

OnePlus’s new partnership with Hasselblad brings the camera game really upward. OnePlus 9 Pro has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 sensor paired with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 ultra-wide camera. There is an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.3x Optical zoom, which also takes macro shots. lastly, it has a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Cameras have Hasselblad natural color calibration and support 8k video recording as well as 4K video recording at 120 fps.

OnePlus 9 has the same camera setup except it misses out the telephoto lens and the main sensor is 48-megapixel Sony IMX689. OnePlus 9R has 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 camera with 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens, 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Performance and Battery Life

Both OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are powered by snapdragon 888 while the OnePlus 9R is rocking the new snapdragon 870. All three supports up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB RAM.

They all have the same 4,500mAh battery and 65W fast charge support. The Pro has 50W wireless charge support too. OnePlus 9 also has a 15W wireless charge, however, it’s only available in the EU and NA. New smartphones run on Android 11 along with OxygenOS 11.

Display

OnePlus 9 Pro features a 6.7-inches AMOLED display with LTPO technology. The screen resolution is 3216 X 1440 pixels and has an adaptive refresh rate 1Hz-120Hz. It also supports HDR10+ and Hyper-touch which allows 5 finger multi-touch at 240Hz touch sampling rate.

OnePlus 9 and 9R has a slightly smaller 6.55 inches display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. They don’t have LTPO and the OnePlus 9R also doesn’t have an AMOLED display.

OnePlus Smartwatch

The new OnePlus smartwatch has a 46mm dial, circular design. It has a 1.39 inch AMOLED with 326PPI and 454×454 pixel screen resolution. The smartwatch connects to your smartphone using Bluetooth 5.0.

OnePlus smartwatch support 110+ workout mode as well as blood oxygen and stress level monitoring. There is 4GB in-built storage in the watch. You can store your music and connect your OnePlus buds with it, so there is no need of carrying a smartphone. It also has 5ATM and IP68 certified rating for water and dust resistance.

The coolest feature of the smartphone is it can be connected to the OnePlus TV and can be used to control it. But that’s not the cool part. The watch can actually detect that you have fallen asleep and it turns off your TV automatically after a short period of time.

How long can the OnePLus smartwatch last? well, it has a 402mAh battery with a Type-C fast charge and wireless charger support. According to the company, just 20 minutes of the charge can give you 2 weeks’ worth of battery life.

Lastly, There is also the OnePlus smartwatch special edition. It’s made of cobalt alloy and the glass on the top is sapphire, which is the most durable glass on any smartwatch right now.

The regular version comes in two different colors, Midnight Black and Moonlight Silver. OnePlus smartwatch is priced at Rs. 14,999 in India, $159 in the USA, and £149 in the UK. The price of the special edition is currently announced.
