Game of Thrones Season 8 is coming this April. Recently, HBO has released the first official trailer for GOT final season 8. here take a look first, and then we dive right into the trailer breakdown.
A trailer is only around 2 minutes long but it’s filled with lots of secret details that you might have missed. we took a closer look at the trailer and try to find all the details possible. so let’s begin.
most of the trailer covers the preparation for the battle against night king and some major battle scenes with the White Walkers.
the trailer opens with Arya running through Winterfell and saying “I know death, he has many faces.”Its references to the many-faced God with whom she’s been training throughout the series.
the right side of Arya’s face and her chest is bloodied so she appears to be wounded and is running from someone, maybe a white walker. since we know the night king can raise the dead, it’s also possible that Arya is running from one of the dead Starks. otherwise, what else could have made fearless Arya completely frightened. the blood on her body may not be her own since she gets splattered by somebody’s blood in one of the scenes. she’s also holding a new dagger that appears to be made of dragonglass.
the season premiere will take place at Winterfell. As you can see in the trailer Dany and John arriving at Winterfell with the unsullied. this scene looks like a replica of season 1 first episode when Robert Baratheon come to meet ned stark at Winterfell. you can also see the little boy waiting there, who is actually Bran Stark. just like in the first episode he is waiting for the arrival.
the wildlings and other small folk are watching the arrival of Jon and Dany from the sidelines. the last time we saw wildlings, they were helping the Night’s Watch guard the wall at the east watch.
there is also a scene of Dany and Jon’s conversation in front of Lyanna Stark’s crypt similar to Robert and Ned’s conversation scene.
In this scene, you can see very frightened Varys hiding in the Winterfell crypts. you can also see Gilly and her baby in the background along with some other people. It looks like women and children are hiding inside while the battle is raging on outside. meanwhile, Sam is spotted talking to bran.so, Sam will likely be the one to tell John about his true parents.
Jon is also standing at the weirwood tree. it looks like the same tree where ned stark was talking to Catelyn stark in season 1 episode 1. if you remember Jon also took his Night’s Watch vows in season 1, of course, that was another weirwood tree.
This is a shot of two men we assumed had died, Beric Dondarrion and Tormund Giantsbane. the last time we saw them they were on top of the wall, moments before the night King broke it down with ice dragon, viserion. now, this scene proves that they are still alive.
the last time we saw Euron Greyjoy he was on his way to Essos at Cersei’s command to bring the golden company. the golden company is a group of mercenaries that have been mentioned multiple times throughout the game of thrones series. here you can see the golden company aboard the Greyjoy fleet. Ships are commanded by a man named Harry Strickland, A character played by actor Marc Rissman. some of the crew is also carrying barrels. There is a possibility that those barrels might be filled with wildfire which Tyrion and Cersei Lannister have used in the past.
In this scene, the two remaining dragons Rhaegal and dragon arrive at Winterfell and you can see both Sansa’s and Arya’s reactions to seeing them for the first time.
This is a shot where the dragons have just finished a recent meal. we know that because of the bones of the dead bodies and places burned around dragons. Just right after that, you can see John and Danny approach them with their heads down. it looks like they’re about to get on them and fly into the battle. By looking at this, looks like Jon will be riding Rhaegal and Dany will ride a dragon. this actually makes sense because Rhaegal was named after John’s father Rhaegar Targaryen.
Here you can see Cersei with the mountain, who is now known as a zombie, and master Qyburn, who recreated this zombie. the three appear to be at King’s Landing looking over Blackwater Bay. there is a chance that Cersei could be smiling at the arrival of Euron and the golden company.in another scene Cersei is sitting on Iron Throne and she is speaking with two people. One of them appears to be Euron Greyjoy and another guy is still a mystery to us.
the last remaining Baratheon, Gendry was at East Watch after coming back from the wall. In the trailer, you can see him once again. Maybe he is at Winterfell helping to forge weapons out of dragonglass to fight the White Walkers.
in season 7 Samwell stole his father’s sword, which is made of Valyrian steel. in the trailer, it looks like he has given this sword to Jorah Mormont.
Missandei and Grey worm are seen kissing right before he heads off to battle with his unsullied army. There is a
Brienne and Podrick are also at Winterfell. and you can also see Brienne fighting and killing the Wights. Jaime Lannister is also spotted on the Winterfell rooftops screaming. by looking at this scene it pretty clear that something in Winterfell has caught fire. Arya also tries to reach there by killing Wights with her spear.
the hound is also in the trailer, who is very afraid of fire.he is standing very close to the fire and this time he doesn’t look afraid.
Here is some very interesting news about Cersei. in season 7 she claimed to be pregnant but in one shot you can see that she is taking a sip of wine. This clearly means she is no longer pregnant or she was never pregnant and she just lied about it. After all, she is the biggest liar in GOT.
Of all the remaining alive character only two characters, the red woman Melisandre and Theon Greyjoy is missing in the
Now to find out answers to all of the other questions we still have to wait until April 14th for the release of the game of thrones season 8. If you spot any other secret detail in the trailer, let us know in the comment.
