Google Pixel 5 vs OnePlus 8T Detail Comperssion

OnePlus 8T has a high-end Snapdragon 865 processor along with a 4,500 mAh battery and faster UFS 3.1. In comparison, Google pixel 5 has a mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor with a smaller 4,080 mAh and UFS 2.1 storage. So clearly when it comes to performance and Speed OnePlus is the champ.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 8T miss out on some important features like certified IP rating for Water and dust resistance and wireless charging. Pixel 5 offers 12W wireless charging as well as an IPX68 rating.

ALSO READ: Apple’s MagSafe charger also works with Google Pixel 5.

Now the thing is even without the certified rating, 8T still offers water resistant. Also the wired charger is way faster on OnePlus 8T(65W) compared to Pixel 5(18W).

Speaking of Displays, OnePlus 8T offers 6.55 inches 120Hz AMOLED Display. Pixel 5 has 6.0 inches display limited to 90Hz. However it’s an OLED display, which is generally considered better than AMOLED.

When it comes to camera, OnePlus 8T has Quad-camera setup with larger 48MP main camera sensor. Pixel 5 has Dual camera with 12.2MP being main sensor. Even though Pixel has smaller sensor, thier software optimization is amazing and it gives close to natural look on most of your photoshop.

Additionally Google’s Camera software is capable of doing some really cool modification. For a example you can add lights and re-adjust focus even if you have finished clicking the picture. You can also blur out the background in the older pictures (the ones you have taken before potrait mode was introduced).

The only downside of the Pixel 5 camera is smaller sensor. If they had offered all of these features with larger camera sensor then no other smartphone camera would even come closer.

OnePlus 8t has a 16MP front camera. Pixel 5 has a smaller 8MP sensor for the selfie camera. However selfies and portrait shots look better on Pixel 5, Once again thanks to Google’s image software processor.

The design of the smartphone could be very subjective. Pixel 5 is very small, easy to use with one hand, and has a premium matte finish. OnePlus 8T is slightly heavy, feels a little big for one-hand usage, and has a glossy finish.

When it comes to gaming performance OnePlus 8t comes on top because of the faster processor. However, Google Pixel 5 is more than capable of handling any high-end android game.

Verdict

So which one you should buy? Well for 49$ more OnePlus offers so much more in terms of specs. So it should be an obvious choice. However, you could go with Pixel 5 if you want better pictures, convince of the wireless charger, compact smartphone, and some pixel smartphones exclusive features.
