OnePlus 8 and One Plus 8 Pro are now officially launched by the company. it has 120Hz Display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, Wireless Charging, 48 MP Quad Camera and 5G capabilities. Here is everything you need to know about these new smartphones.
OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Release Date
Pre-orders have been already started from 14th April. On 21st April they will be released in Europe, and On 29th April in the USA.
OnePlus 8 series official launch date in India hasn’t been announced yet. As per rumors, it will be during June 2020.
Does OnePlus 8/OnePlus 8 Pro Support 5G Network?
Both smartphones are equipped with Snapdragon 865, which is 5G ready chipset. So both series 8 smartphones will support 5G connectivity using X55 5G chipset.
Indian OnePlus probably thinking “will OnePlus Pro support 5G in india?”. yes indian version of smartphone is same so it will support 5G in india. However keep in mind that there is absolutely no 5G network provider in india.
Key Specs Difference
The main difference between both smartphones is the camera. Pro has a quad-camera setup with 48MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide lens, 8MP telephoto lens, and 5MP depth sensor. The normal version has a triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera along with 16MP ultra-wide and 2MP Macro lens.
As per the Selfi camera both has 16MP punch hole camera, capable of 1080p video recording.
Another Differences in performance is Ram. OnePlus 8 pro has LPDDR5 RAM while while OnePlus 8 has LPDDR4X RAM. On paper LPDDR5 is 1.5x faster than LPDDR4X.
Big Brother has 4510 mAh battery with wirless charging while little brother got 4300 mAh battery with no wireless charge support.

Finally most awaited feature, wireless charging is supported on OnePlus 8 Pro. On the other hand still no Wireless charging available on OnePlus 8.
Pro also has IP certified water resistance. However, OnePlus 8 once again miss out on that feature.
You, remember that OnePlus 7 Pro had pop-up selfie camera? The New 8 series doesn’t have a pop-up camera. it has a punch-hole selfie camera design instead. Honestly, it’s actually better than pop-up camera design. it always felt more risky and unreliable.
